This introductory five-day course offers newly elected Health and Safety Representatives an extensive grounding in the State and Federal Health and Safety laws that apply within the Western Australian building and construction industry.
The course will give you confidence in your ability to represent your work group and to understand and use the powers you have as an HSR to help create a safer workplace.
This course is accredited by the Work Health and Safety Commission in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act and includes knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Regulations and the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.
All Health and Safety Representatives should attend this course within three months of being elected.
Anyone with an interest in taking on a management position related to Health and Safety in the construction industry should do this course. While it is not a pre-requisite, it will provide you with a great introduction and pathway into a Certificate IV course in health and safety.
Certification
There is no formal qualification or assessment for this course. You will receive certification of participation and attendance on completion.
