    Start your construction journey with the essential safety knowledge and awareness required to enter and work safely on any Australian construction site.

    Before you step foot on-site, you need to know how to spot the risks, speak the safety language, and work in line with the law. This essential induction course gives you the foundation to work safely in construction, no fluff, just what matters.

    Whether you are new to the tools or switching into construction from another industry, this course is your first step in building a safe, successful career. Get inducted, get informed, and get ready to work the right way from day one.

    Pre-requisites:     
    There are no formal pre-requisites for this course

    What you will learn:

    • Understand your rights and responsibilities under WHS legislation
    • Recognise common construction hazards – slips, trips, falls, electricity, plant, and more
    • Get across the roles of key duty holders, from workers to principal contractors
    • Identify and control risks using the Hierarchy of Controls
    • Know what to do in an emergency, including evacuation and reporting procedures
    • Read and follow signage, SWMS, and site-specific safety requirements
    • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) properly and know when it’s not enough
    • Understand how culture, communication, and attitudes shape safety on-site

    Assessment
    Open book written questions and practical assessments undertaken in class

    Certification
    A Statement of Attainment for CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry and a wallet sized White Card will be issued upon successful completion of the course.
