HEALTH AND SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE TRAINING (HSR)

    Training (Approved by Worksafe WA – Non-Accredited)

    This introductory five-day course offers newly elected Health and Safety Representatives an extensive grounding in the State and Federal Health and Safety laws that apply within the Western Australian building and construction industry.

    The course will give you confidence in your ability to represent your work group and to understand and use the powers you have as an HSR to help create a safer workplace.

    This course is accredited by the Work Health and Safety Commission in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act and includes knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Regulations and the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.

    All Health and Safety Representatives should attend this course within three months of being elected.

    Anyone with an interest in taking on a management position related to Health and Safety in the construction industry should do this course.

    $1050 (training subsidies may be available, please contact us to discuss eligibility)

    Monday to Friday from 730AM – 330PM

    Pre-requisites:
    There are no formal pre-requisites for this course

    What you will learn:
    Throughout this 5-day course, participants will develop the skills and knowledge to:

    • Understand the Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislative framework
    • Recognise the role of the regulator and the importance of worker representation
    • Participate in effective consultation and communication
    • Apply risk management principles, including conducting inspections and incident investigations
    • Understand and issue Provisional Improvement Notices (PINs) in line with legislative requirements

    Certification:
    You will receive certification of participation and attendance on completion.
